We provide nothing other than homemade food using only local and natural ingredients!

Very much a family affair, Greendale View Kitchen on Chatburn Road, Downham, has re-opened with stylish new interiors, wonderful views and a mouth-watering ‘all day’ menu of home cooked fare. Trevor and Louise Rutherford, who ran the popular Puddleducks tearoom in Dunsop Bridge for nine years, have taken over the business with their son Ashley.

The main dining area  can accommodate up to 50 people with long distance views across the Ribble Valley towards the Yorkshire Dales.

Trevor is particularly renowned for the organic granary and other breads that he makes himself on a daily basis and visitors can buy to take home.

There is a lovely room which can accommodate for seating up to 18 people which can be booked for private functions. We also provide a take-away service for passers-by in a hurry and  provide outside catering for events.

All the food is cooked by hand, from scratch, using local ingredients wherever possible and afternoon tea is served from 3.00pm – 4.30pm, offering a delicious range of home-made cakes, and lots of different teas and coffees plus Folkingtons Fruit Juices and Uncle Bob’s ice cream.

“Best cooked breakfast in the Ribble Valley. Food always cooked fresh to order and great to have a warm by the log burning stove on a winters morning.”

“Excellent place, friendly service with fantastic homemade cakes. Always had good weather for sitting outside in the lovely garden. Highly recommend a visit here.”
